Westonite and green event producer Remy Chevalier, owner of The Aquarium Steampunk Reading Room in Norwalk, is organizing a national model search in conjunction with Greenloop and Portland Fashion Week. Project Green Search is a nationwide campaign aimed at inspiring people to think about how to align their careers with environmental, social and humanitarian ethics. It serves as a platform to connect mission-driven people with sustainable businesses and organizations in the modeling, spokesperson, design, fashion, talent, entertainment and arts arenas.The 2009 Green Model Search is looking for girl and women who want to model while also being advocates for the environment, animal welfare, fair trade, and human rights. The contest asks models to “be the poster girl for what is OK to sell — and what is not.”Greenloop, with the support Lό Magazine, Portland Fashion Week, and many green living experts, environmental activists, celebrities, and eco-fashion industry leaders, is hosting the first green model beauties competition to launch Project Green Search. The competition finals will be held during Portland Fashion Week, featuring only independent and eco designers, Oct. 7-11Greenloop’s mission is to use fashion as a vehicle for environmental advocacy and industry-wide change. Entry for the 2009 competition period will be open until Friday, Sept. 16. Starting Monday, Sept. 17, the general public will be able to view entrants online and vote for their favorite 10 candidates. You can find so many girl beauties. All search contestants will be required to donate a minimum of 10 hours of volunteer time to an environmental group, choosing from a list that includes The Natural Step, Green Corps, the NRDC, Global Green, The Sierra Club, and others. The winner of the 2009 Project Green Search will receive a prize package to including representation by modeling agencies, a complete makeover and Eco-Fashion wardrobe, a professional photography session, cover shots and interior spreads in several print and online magazines, a portfolio and marketing materials, and extensive exposure and support in gaining modeling work with sustainable fashion houses, green products lines, organic cosmetic companies.You can find model galleries also.
